“Small and medium sized farmers are the backbone of Ukrainian agriculture, but they often do not have the resources and opportunities to receive training on the latest agrarian methods and inputs,” Eric Bleich, USAID AgroInvest Chief of Party. “This unique partnership program specifically focuses on working with small and medium sized farmers to help them develop their capacity.”
The USAID Ukraine AgroInvest Project is a five-year (January 2011- January 2016) program funded by the U.S. The purpose of AgroInvest is to provide technical assistance to accelerate and broaden economic recovery in Ukraine and increase the country’s contribution to global food security efforts. AgroInvest is achieving this objective by supporting a stable, market-oriented agricultural policy environment, stimulating access to financial services for small and medium producers (SMPs), and facilitating a more effective market infrastructure for SMPs.
