In recent years, the agricultural sector in Ukraine remains the most attractive for investment. Many of the experts emphasized this during the conference “Agribusiness-2017: funding instruments, innovative tools, assessment and risk management.” At the invitation of the organizer International Financial Club “Banker”, International Relation Director of Grano Trade LLC Christina Vydoinyk participated at the conference. Advance payments grain purchase program was recognized by several speakers as effective financing instruments for Ukrainian agricultural producers. Experts also discussed the most significant issues in risk management in agriculture today.
It is worth mentioning, that in 2015/2016 MY Grano Trade successfully implemented Advance payments program for its foreign clients. The success of the program is largely attributed to our specially developed risk management system. The company will continue program implementation in the coming year.
Ukraine is going to supply grain to Sierra Leone. Purchasing of Ukrainian agricultural products became the main topic during the visit of the delegation of Sierra Leone to Kyiv.
Head of “Grano Trade LLC” Andriy Isak met with representatives of African republic headed by the Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security of Sierra Leone Monty Patrick Jones.
Today Sierra Leone is listed among low income food deficit countries. Last year’s drought and an Ebola outbreaks have dramatically worsened the food security situation in the country.
Ukraine has already exported to Sierra Leone milk, dairy and flour products. However, the government of Sierra Leone is interested in expanding the list of positions of Ukrainian agricultural products that are supplied to the market of this African country.
Chairman of the board of “Grano Trade LLC” Andriy Isak assured that Ukraine has all possibilities to become a reliable partner for the Republic of Sierra Leone to provide the population of the country with core agricultural products.
The leading Korean companies and financial institutions intend to deepen their cooperation with Ukraine, in particular in the agricultural sector. These issues were topping the agenda of the “Ukraine-Korea – economic cooperation” Forum, which was held in Kiev on October 2, 2016.
Director for International Cooperation Mrs. Christina Vydoinyk represented the “Grano Trade” Company at the Forum. She held several working meetings with the representatives of the Korean business circles on the sidelines of the Forum.
It is worth reminding that nowadays many Korean corporations and companies have already been successfully operating on the Ukrainian market. Good example is the Daewoo Company which has become one of the major exporters of Ukrainian grain to Asia and the Middle East.
A relevant Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and POSCO DAEWOO CORPORATION in the field of agricultural machinery modernization was signed at the Forum.
The Granо Trade Company will cooperate with The International Finance Corporation (IFC), which greatly contributes to the development of small and medium business in Ukraine. The agreement was reached at a meeting of Grano Trade Chairman of the Board Andriy Isak with the IFC “Development of funding of the agricultural sector in Eastern Europe and Central Asia” Project Manager Leah Soroka, held on Tuesday.
As agreed the Ukrainian Company will participate in the working debates and will make its practical proposals on how to make the agricultural receipts accessible and attractive to the Ukrainian farmers as well as marketable for the financial institutions that are supporting the farmers.
At present the Grano Trade Company is actively using the collateral agreement with future harvest serving as collateral. At the same time the agrarian receipts could become a new financial instrument if banks accept them to secure their loans.
It bears reminding that the Grano Trade Company provides the Ukrainian farmers with financial recourses during a sowing campaign in spring. The funds serve as an advance payment against future harvest that farmers are obliged to deliver to the company after crop harvesting.
Taking into account that IFC develops and implements new agro-insurance products, the Grano Trade Company agreed to apply them in its cooperation with the Ukrainian agricultural producers.
Agricultural producers finished the wheat harvest. As of August,30, 100% of grain, purchased by Grano Trade under the Forward program, is delivered to elevators. "So, agrarians fully complied with its obligations before Grano Trade. The grain is delivered according to the schedule, the quality of wheat meets the requirements of forward contracts. In its turn, Grano Trade made final payment to agricultural producers for delivered wheat", – the Chairman of GranoTrade Andriy Isak noted.
GranoTrade has completed receiving grain from agrarian.
As of August, 25 about 95% of new crop wheat, purchased under our Forward program, is already delivered to the elevators. The last consignment of grain will be at elevator by the end of August. In the opinion of agricultural producers, today small and medium-sized companies actually cannot obtain bank loans. “Forward grain purchase program of Grano Trade became a good alternative to bank loans for our company. Participation in Spring Forward program of Grano Trade allowed us to conduct sowing campaign and pay for fuel and rent of agricultural machinery”,- General director of "Agro-Express Service" Vasyl Mucha pointed.
Agricultural producers started to deliver new crop grain to elevator under the Forward grain purchase program of Grano Trade LLC. The company buys wheat of 2,3 and 6 classes.
"Grain deliveries are carried out according to the schedule. The part of the total amount of wheat, purchased by GranoTrade under the forward contracts, is already at elevators ", – the Chairman of GranoTrade Andriy Isak said.

During the meeting Andriy Isak told about Grano Trade’s activity and expressed the interest in establishing cooperation with Saudi companies and investors. In his turn, Ambassador emphasized that Saudi Arabia has a strategic interest in enhanced cooperation and implementation of joint projects in agriculture.
